Under the Railway Safety Regulator Act, standards and regulations that apply to railway operators are required to attain and maintain a safety permit for the activities and services they perform. The below examples are some of the conditions:
- Develop and maintain a robust Safety Management system (SMS)
- Carry out Risk Assessments
- Develop Safe operating procedures (SOP)
- Conduct rail investigations
- Safety investigations on the rail reserve and lines
- Rail accident investigations
- RSR submissions
The improvement in our operating standards has been proved over time in the operations of dangerous goods ie: fuels and gases. Our Safety Officer Mr IG Grunewald ensures that all paperwork is site retained and and co-ordination between rail maintainer and operations is enhanced and through installed paperwork where operational issues are eliminated.
